Since 1972 East India Company Ltd has been importing and distributing specialty food ingredients in Canada, the USA and abroad. Only the best will do, and that has been the basis of the business from the beginning…

Vinod and Raj-Rani Jain immigrated to Canada in the late 60’s and at that time it was next to impossible to find the exotic ingredients they were used to back in India. They had family send parcels of spices and herbs so they could get the authentic flavours they grew up with. As word spread, friends and small restaurants/shops in Toronto would add on to these parcels, eventually growing orders to full truck loads! This was when East India Company LTD was born. From day one the focus has been on excellent quality, and authentic flavours – East India Company LTD will quite literally go to the ends of the earth to find that perfect ingredient.

Entrepreneurial expats, Vinod and Raj-Rani they knew that the GTA was, and would become, more and more of a melting pot of Canadians who embrace the best of what the world has to offer. Launching East India Company Ltd with that foresight, passion and purpose, they became purveyors of the best international ingredients and products from all corners of the globe.

Over 4 decades later, that same passion, drive and ingenuity, has been passed on to the next generation of Jains - children Sapna, Ravi, and the whole EIC team, continue the family tradition of exceptional customer service and sourcing the absolute finest in the world of rare ingredients for cuisine and wellness.
